There are many pundants of fig rooting methods. I have tried most over the years. Here is a description of an approach that has a 95% success rate at my location.

The best practice for indoor rooting of a lignified Ficus carica scion involves wrapping the upper portion of the cutting with 1.25” wide parafilm, covering the top and sides tightly, without covering bud nodes. This will keep the scion from drying out. The lower portion is then sparingly rubbed with 0.3% indole 3-butryic acid powder.
