@TorontoJoe I’m going to get those soft cal pellets you posted about from the Tractor Supply store tomorrow. I did some research and it seems besides tomatoes peppers like calcium and sulfur too.

@TorontoJoe Did you ever use it on your fig trees?
On my fig trees this year, I've used gypsum and some other minerals in a mix I learned from @RosyPosy - so far, no issues. Results are unknown until I get some ripe fruit. (Or if I don't get any!) But so far, no major issues.@TorontoJoe Did you ever use it on your fig trees?
No no, happy to help. I just don't have any experience with the product. Wanted to point you to people who might!Ok sorry I new didn't read all b4 post I be more diligent next time new to this
Nothing wrong with Oyster products. Probably good for condition soil longer term. If you do need calcium quickly, I think it takes some time to break down. Oysters are Calcium Carbonate. Good stuff but takes a long time to break down and become available to plants. If you know your plants need it in the short term due to a deficiency, Calcium Nitrate is pretty easy to find. It's water soluble and available to the plants to uptake. I know my water is very shy on calcium so I do use this in my drip system. That said, it is synthetic if that's important to you.... If you build good soil over time with good amendments like oyster, shellfish, gypsum etc, you probably don't need it. But if you're starting with a fresh bag of potting mix and none is in your water.... it's something to consider.
It's a lot cheaper in giant bags but a little goes a long way.
