I’m interested in this tree wondering if any one is growing it and can give me some tips to grow it
I’m in zone 7b
So I would have to have it in pot and bring it inside to make it through winter?
How quick can it fruit? Year or years?

Worth it?

There are several specimens growing outdoors year-round in western San Diego county, California. I choose not to because it quickly develops into a large tropical tree with a wide canopy. Agriculturally they are grown to shade coffee plantations. They start producing bean pods on young in-ground specimens in 3-5 years but can be tiny and insipid until the rootball matures and the tree + canopy is at least 8' x 8'.

Keep in mind that Inga are evergreen trees and thus require a greenhouse for overwintering in colder climates.

If you want fruit I know many places you can buy on the island to try.

no i want to, but i havent gotten around to it. ITs a tasty plant and i enjoy it but I get it with relative ease from the market right now. maybe if there is an interesting variety i would
