CDD-Gris in ground?

I currently have a second year CDDG tree in a pot. I am wondering if it would do OK, in ground. I am in zone 8a, middle of NC. Do any members have CDD trees in the ground in a similar climate? Are they able to ripen fruit before frost? Curious about Bordissotenca as well. Thanks!

Curious about this too. I’m in same location and will be planting outdoors eventually everyone I can.

Heck yeah you will! You get plenty-0-heat to generate the GDD's needed. You can grow any variety u lucky dawg!

Lookup GDD estimator then correlate variety as CDD's are all high heat requirement GDD leeches.

Virginia z7 & eastern nc z8 can night & day (specifics matter). I dont think a VA z7 will cut it. Im z7a wnc and cant ripen hardly anything inground.
