Find a Fig Fanatic Contest!

For the record, I am not advertising on Facebook about this forum. I just noticed that members from here are encouraging people to join. Not sure how the "guilty" got there in the quote because I didn't put it there. Could a moderator please remove it?

It was an accident on my part. I am the guilty one.
You are correct about advertising on fb and realizing how those groups have members that aren’t there to learn about figs was careless of me. I am hoping new members that have joined don’t have ulterior motives in this forum. My apologies if I have upset anyone.

I sent to PPL with NO RESPONSES.... :(

Bummer. I have seen two that bounced back because their mailboxes were full...Because of that they would have no seen the notification to confirm their email address. Not sure if these are the ones though.... It could have been anyone or one of the many bots that try to register

I'm not on FB so forgive my ignorance....

When you say "advertise" on FB... Do you mean post the Fig Fanatic referral link there?

Is there some issue with posting the referral link there?

There is no issue with people clicking on the link on fb. I think the concern is getting scammers on this figfanatic.com and they have been lurking on fb fig groups. There is no vetting process except to answer simple questions like why do you like to grow figs, which zone are you in, etc.

I'm on fb fig groups on a regular basis and the admins have been monitoring the scammers' activities. It hasnt been as bad as a couple of years ago.

I'm not sure what sort of scammers you mean. Like fake cuttings? I figure the bad guys are going to lurk regardless. It's insane how many bogus registration attempts we get every day.

I'm not encouraging anyone to break the rules of any group... But everyone has my blessing to post their referral link anywhere you want.... I agree that a forum is a way better, safer destination
