Fig Cuttings

I’m just wondering now that it’s cutting season, since Harvey moved to Portugal will the new owners of his farm hold a cuttings sale.

Did anyone buy his farm? I have not been keeping up with it. Last I heard he was going to have a sale this year. But if he sold it. Who knows.

I don’t think Harvey moved to Portugal. I believe he said that they have another home near their orchard in Northern California and that’s where they will live. The home in Portugal is a vacation home.

But, I don’t think they’ve sold their orchard yet… I’m not aware of any posts about it at least. And I think he said they would continue to have a sale until they sold it.

Has he moved? I know he was talking about it. But not sure he did yet. It has been awhile but I thought he said he was staying around to help the new owners if someone bought the farm. Then when everything was good he would move. But as we all know things sometimes change quickly.

Well I guess we will find out in a few months if he is doing the sale or not. I hope he does. At least one more time. Their are a couple I want to get. But I really love seeing everyone respond on how fast it goes. I remember one year I was on two laptops and my wife was on her phone. And we still did not get everything I wanted. :)

Is @Figaholics here Harvey's account?

The search does not seem to return all posts by that member.
Edit: Seems to return the threads, not the individual posts.

Speaking of cuttings sale Off The Beaten Path Nursery Big Bill should be having his sale soon. It’s usually end of November beginning of December. Everyone who’s subscribed to his mailing list should get a email from him soon.

I am here but have been busy with other farm activities and helping with affairs of a family member. Also, keeping tabs on restoration works with our property in Madeira.

Keep us posted on your fig adventure @Figaholics

Some of my focus these days are the introduction of new species to Madeira, hoping to introduce some things that may offer farmers there the potential to increase their income. I have become friends with the director of a fruit research station there. I haven't planted anything on our property in Madeira yet but an irrigation water storage tank is being constructed now and by spring I should be able to plant some things there. When we were there in mid-August none of the figs on our three trees were ripe yet. I may need to try some earlier varieties but hope with some irrigation and fertilization I can get earlier crops on our existing trees.
