Happy New Year!

I need to know the secret on growing cilantro well because I use it so much.
We sequentially planted and didn't forget about it halfway through this year, I think for the first time ever. I'm sure something else fell off and got ignored to balance everything out!

Continuing @FigLab’s defying winter weather post, I just unboxed some bare root fruit trees!

I asked for one Saturn flat Donut peach tree, and my friend surprised me with 2 of them + 2 Fuyu persimmon trees!! 😮

It’s going to be a full on fruit orchard here in the spring!! 😁. I’m so happy!!

I also ordered some Nambu strawberries (red all the way through, no white core).

But I couldn’t find Mara de Bois bare root strawberries from anyone reputable. Anyone here either grow them or have a source?

@BucksCountyFigs, the way you describe the trees and the strawberries, I want to see your garden in the spring 🥰!!!!

...and perhaps again in the fall 😁.

The good news is, the amount of precipitation went from 6-8 inches down to 1.5!!!

I was SO happy when I saw that the storm is staying over the ocean!! I’m so sick of snow and want to garden!

The funny thing is that I have always been known for my peonies, especially my rare tree peonies, so if you’re ever out my way in the beginning of the summer, stop by!

Or if you want to see some peonies now, I posted some on my fb page, but pics don’t do these mammoth silky flowers justice.

Wow those are gorgeous... I would love to see them in person. You're quite a gardener ☘️
Aww…thanks. ☺️

My previous garden was my dream garden, and after 14 years, I almost had it almost on autopilot, since I incorporated the philosophy of the famous great British perennial gardens of succession blooming, so different flowers were always blooming every week, and I practically never had to weed. My last summer had 177 garden groups come through, so it was a fun social thing, too. I love to encourage new gardeners, as well as experienced gardeners to try new things, so everyone went home with a plant.

This new garden is much smaller (1/3 acre), built over an old ash forest, so it’s all solid tree roots and rocks under the soil, so I’m starting over again and carving out a new garden.
But this time with…FIGS! 😁

When I start to post pics of tree peonies, just lmk if you’re in my area. You’re always welcome to come visit the garden. Just keep in mind I’m starting over and it’s a new garden, so not tour worthy for a while, but the peonies are quite something to behold.
