Thank you in advance for any and all advice. I have a fig tree that is about 6 feet tall. Need advice on pruning. I know that there is alot of info out there but haven't seen any trees that look like mine

It is a brown turkey 6 feet tall. Dormant now in central florida winter. Any advice on pruning cuts would be greatly appreciated

Can’t speak from experience, but I would just figure out where you want the branches and loo off the rest. If you want it shorter trim off the top. It’s kind of odd shaped so go with the flow maybe.

A lot depends on how you want to grow it out. I really like how Homer of Basement Figs/Fig Talk on YouTube prunes his. They are beautiful. I believe he leaves 10-12" on each branch when he prunes. He does make note which direction the leaf nodes face.

I grow in pots and like the idea of having lower branches so I can pick fruit comfortably. Why let the birds get any?

He has beautifully shaped trees. He definitely puts in more time and consideration than most.

I'm no expert but I would tip the top and concentrate on 3 larger branches spread out nicely. Remove the rest and fertilize and water well after last frost.

Man that's not a bad looking tree, I may give that another year to do it's thing...then prune to shape.
Just my opinion. :)

I'd give the whole thing another season...after it gets bigger you may see that it takes on the shape you want and will be easier the prune it to that shape. 😁
