VERY LOW TEMPERATURE for me tonight

Yeah it’s windy here currently and below freezing but if I can finish cooking breakfast for family and get outside I’m going to try protecting in ground figs even more. Time, just need time. Well materials too…🤣
 
Looks like it’s slowed or pushed back. Was supposed to hit us around lunch or shortly after but now almost looks like 8-9 pm before it hits.

Don't you use tarp to mix soil? Any plastic to reduce air movement would help, especially near the ground.

It took me 3 days to get it ready because I didn't have time to finish it one go.
 
We are in the supposed to get freezing rain here in East TN zone. It's coming this way.....don't know how much or how long. But the temperatures this week, whew. I've faced it. No more room in the garage, maybe I'll try and run a small propane heater in the greenhouse, maybe not. After our big greenhouse fire 6 years ago, as close as the greenhouse is to MY actual house, scares me.1769275354556.png
 
Looks like this event is officially hitting this evening around 7pm with rain...I will keep following...seems a bit ahead of schedule.

This current week will help me identify which weather forecast to use going forward.

Tuesday looks to be the coldest day next week … for now.
  • Accuweather - High 14F Low 2F
  • Weather Underground - High 24F Low 12F
  • Weather Channel - 24F Low 12F
  • National Weather Service - High 19F Low 6F
  • Apple Weather - High 19F Low 6F
Needless to say, I’m hoping the Weather Channel temperatures win out, or at least, Accuweather doesn’t win out.

Good idea. I have one pot that would be perfect to wrap with that tarp.

The weather channel has usually been the best for me.
