Let's Get Grinchy

I cannot believe that varieties in this contest would be low tier types after growing these cuttings for a full year. That would be too cruel after all the effort the winner puts into the cuttings. Especially when you have to wait a couple of years to get decent fruit off the trees. I think these cuttings will be extra special because it is Christmas. The Grinch may be tricky with his choices because the winner will be trying to identify the varieties on his/her own before 2026 is over. At least I know I would. Lol. The clue is his heart grows 3x bigger after Christmas. So the Grinch may have some extra special varieties hidden away somewhere in his greenhouse.

I thonk it will likely be a mix. Some known winners, some underrated. Maybe.

I don't want you all to take my earlier post as definite. I have no idea what's forthcoming. I can only wish like the rest of you.

Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. Opiem10 has put in some unique varieties. I tried doing researching on them and with a few I found nothing online.
For the sake of transparency, the cuttings in the Santa’s Reindeer Games come primarily from Nina and Rocco. Their donations gave the program nearly 100 different varieties to distribute to our members. I supplement with some additional varieties from my collection.

The Christmas Eve “Let’s Get Grinchy” giveaway will only include sticks from the trees in my collection.

That sounds like so much FUN! ...but holy cow!... How in the world do you guys come up with this stuff?... You are so hilarious! 🤣

"How do they come up with this stuff?" I mean... I think its fair to say that Fig Fanatics have at least, slight irrational tendencies and imbalances.... but it's all so much fun, they just keep the party going!

I'm loving this so much! 😃

I'm so impressed, and proud!

With only several hours before the Grinchy Christmas Giveaway opens, I'm thinking of several mays to make the "game" even more Grinchy. Get ready.

When the game opens, anyone interested in participating simply will need to post "Grinch Me" in the thread for the game. A winner will be chosen by the Wheelofnames, so your time of posting has no impact on the game. After all it is Christmas Eve and we may have other things going on with family and friends.

Thank you to the 35 members who posted a desire to "Grinch Me".

The Grinch's Wheelofnames has selected a random winner of the 10 totally free cuttings which will be sent to the (un)lucky recipient with only an alphanumeric code on each stick. Only on, or after Christmas Day 2026 can the recipient request unblinding of the code. In the interim, updates on the progress of the recipient's rooting efforts would be appreciated for all members to see.

To keep the game Grinchy, the winner will be announced very late tonight.
