So what y’all get?

Wanted Santa Claus Lane. Saw the price and hesitated for 2 seconds, then it’s gone 😅 I guess it’s decided for me that I shouldn’t get it. $50 a cutting is a bit too much anyway. Anybody here ripened figs from this one? How good is it?

Rubado high acidity jolly rancher intrigued. Ive heard ndsc is cherry spice as well. Des tres esplets is really cause you need a rdb type in my climate (says the locals)
Rubado does have jolly rancher type flavors it just ripens super late and splits maybe more then every other tree in my collection. I just gave my 15 gallon tree to my neighbor.

I got scl. And vince 3. Was hoping they were in the 30$ range but still ok compared to others.
Anybody at this forum buy Santa Clause Ln? It sold out at $50 ea. Smith, Black Madeira kk still available guess they lost their popularity. And very inexpensive now . Can’t believe Green Michurinska still available. Thought for sure it would have sold out quick.

I got one that I don't know much about. I think that I read somewhere it's like a really good and really big Celeste. It's called Motoso Preto. Does anyone know if it's any good? How does it taste? How big are the figs?

DTE is not as good as RdB though. It’s on average bigger and earlier, but taste wise not as good.
I have to disagree on DTE. I had a main crop DTE from a mature tree and also one from a mature RDB, and the succession of different fruit flavors that I was getting in DTE just blew my mind. I was literally saying wow, oh wow. Oh my God, wow like a blither and idiot, lol.

Although since then, I have read that each crop of the three potential crops of DTE taste very different from each l other, and I have seen that the flavors of DTE can vary significantly for different folks, so it might be more of a case of your mileage might vary sort of thing with DTE?

I didn't like it, but I did.

I really don't like the Shop thing, it added extra cuttings to my cart. Some people bundle and refund shipping, I was kinda hoping for that
I think you will get some money back, because it says in the notes on the website that Big Bill does bundle and refund shipping, and charges a much smaller bundling fee instead.

Missed SCL, Cuvert, and Yellow Neches because I paused to “be responsible” for about 60 seconds 😭

Still managed to do plenty of damage - snagged a few (aka way too many 😂): Vince #3, San Mateo, Calderona di Miner, Ondata, Jamal Al Asfar, Iranian Candy… and yes, that’s not the full list 🤦‍♂️
I’d be curious if you find JAA to really be the sweetest of almost all the figs. 😋

DTE is good but it’s not that good. I get all kind of flavors from DTE too but it’s a mild pleasant fig. Really mature RdB can produce figs that is super close to top-tier for me. It’s not top tier but very very close. Earlier figs from RdB when it was younger were good but are usually small and the skin is too thin. This season they were really good, average 40 grams and very close to top tier. Full of syrup and even leaking syrup from the eye! Our climates are different too. I’m not sure how RdB tastes like on the east coast.
My sons are so spoiled by all the caprified figs they get and when they ate the RdB figs, they made me put one in the ground (mine is a two years old graft on a 7 years old rootstock).
