I knew it was productive, but My Gosh!!

My Moscatel Preto tree grew back from complete above-ground die-back this season (I did not protect it at all) and yet it gave me at least as many figs as any of my other trees, ripening figs pretty consistently from the beginning of September through frost.

I just cut most of my in-ground trees back a bit before our first real freeze might damage wood so that I can share here and there. I was in awe of how many figs were still in various stages of developing on M. Preto before it lost its leaves.

I will need to remove all of them before storing the cuttings, but take a look! This has definitely been the tree that impressed me the most this year!!

My Hollier was similar but not quite as many figs on it - weird year for sure

Good that mine is in a pot. I moved it inside to ripen the rest. It is not a late variety. I just up potted it late this year as with a lot of my trees.

I just posted about one way to use unripe green figs - preserved figs. There are many ways. They were good. I made them for the first time this week.
