This contest is for new or old members - ANYONE just learning to root cuttings or starting their collection.

You are also invited to participate if you are new to grafting and need more common varieties for rootstock.

The prizes will be variety packs of common types (e.g. Olympian, Texas Ever Bearing, Celeste, Brown Turkey, etc., 2 of each) plus a few better selections based on your zone.

I'm really thankful this year for car safety features! My mom got in a crazy accident a day ago and she walked away with just bruises. An elderly woman with osteoporosis in a totaled SUV with both airbags deployed, no concussion, no broken bones. crazy.

An avatar, just for you. ^_^ It's a picture of my sweet old man cat, who is 16 years old. I've had him since he was 3 1/2 months old, and I'm grateful for every day he's been in my life. Him, and his little brother Peekboo, who I also adopted at 3 1/2 months old oddly enough. I'm grateful for my family, for this beautiful fig community, and I'm even grateful the house I was trying so hard to buy fell through right before closing. The right one will come along, and it will work out at the right time. That house taught me patience, and to trust my gut - even when my gut reaction is a big ol' shrug.
 
OK to me this is sad, but my dad was recently diagnosed with multi myeloma cancer in bones and is going through chemo. I am thankful that he is 90% cancer free and doctors expect him to be able to live with this for many years to come. With that said I have over 30 varieties and he told me last week I hope I am around next few years to taste these figs you have..
 
Hi All!

I’m new to rooting figs and my friend gave me a cutting of her Chicago Hardy fig tree. It’s been really great learning more about figs! I love gardening and have only really grown vegetables so some fruit is great!

I’m super thankful for meeting some awesome gardening friends this year. I started growing dahlias for fun and my new friend invited me over to look at her garden and showed me her fig tree. She shared with me how this tree gives her so much fruit she shares with everyone she meets (including me). She showed so much kindness- I hope to repay her with my baked goods this year!

I’m so grateful to have connections with people who have the same interests and understanding and not have to explain why it’s cool(to us).

I’m thankful to my wonderful partner who helps me with all my gardening and thrifting and family chaos. Even with his disability and problems- he always shows up for me and I feel like the luckiest person in the world.
 
While not eligible... and even though my thanksgiving was in October... I want to share

I'm thankful that @PapaFig is such a dedicated and generous fig fanatic

I'm also thankful that one of the criteria is the avatar pic requirement...... I'm not saying one needs to use a picture of themselves.... just that, big'ol letter in a dot doesn't say much.

If you're struggling to think of just the right image to use... I will gladly design one for you.... Like I did for @ktrain
