If it ever adds another trunk from the roots, I'd like a cutting, best tasting tea varieties sound like a good collection project. I bought three tea plants this year. hahahaha

A cutting I had that turned out to be a caprifig was one of the best smelling cuttings I’ve ever received, it was like brown sugar and creamy coconut. It tasted good too and made the best fig leaf tea.

Stronger the smell. The less needed for tea. Capri is the way to go.

Nah man. That one I don't have. Looks and sounds good. But gotta concentrate on other figs.

It's a good grower, my best graft was on an in ground Inchário Preto, Planera and IP that tree was awesome! It's gone now, the house flippers cut it out or something.

For sure! That’s all you could use it for anyhow, it doesn’t hold fruit. A good project!

I keep hearing there will be another sale. If there is I will have to pick up a few. Not that I need them. But just to keep them around for us fig lovers.

I heard that Marabout has the same property. The wasps seem to be way more attracted to Smyrna types.

I had my Inchário Preto in my front yard, it was insanely productive and ripened them all(except the new ones produced outside the wasp window of course), all my other trees were in the backyard, some smyrnas dropped fruit, a lot was caprified I bet, but IP out front, never had a problem. It took a couple years to focus on being a tree, but once it was mature it was unstoppable.

Maybe it had better luck because it was alone? I dunno, but to me it seemed like a beacon for the wasp.

I did that at first myself and realized there was always a "better one" Now the only thing I chase is better breeding stock. The rabbit hole keeps going deeper.

And just like snakes and any other living thing for that matter. We can breed for certain traits. Now I just need to find or create the right persistent Capri.
