Fig cuttings/airlayers

Personally, I would be very careful about buying air layers now. Here its hitting 95° almost every day and it looks like yours is even hotter.
One day to long in the mailbox and they are cooked, and you're not out of the weeds yet, you still will have to care for them and unless you are going to have misters or an air-conditioned greenhouse the stress will be too much for young plants. Also in this heat, they won't grow much anyway I would wait a few months when it gets down to highs of 85° before buying any.

We don't have any air layers to sell right now, but if you can give us a list, we can set probably some for you.
Let me suggest a few variates that would likely be good for you: Labritja, Nuestra Senyora del Carmen, Red Sicilian, Colonel Littman's Black Cross, Des Tres Esplets, Negra de Agde, Dels Ermitans, Coll de Dama Roja, Coll de Dama Mutante, Col de Dame Gris (Baud), Bourjasotte Grise, and Black Madira aka Figo Preto, BMKK, Madira Island Black, and probably Craven's Craving.

As for sellers to buy from here is a link to a page on our website: https://figroots.com/trusted-sellers/.
Also, maybe talk to Steve Winter (Fruitnut) on Growing Fruit, he is in Alpine so a similar climate.
I agree, it's too hot right now, every tree I've been getting in the mail the last two weeks has completely defoliated and picked up mites and a couple died. Waiting till it cools off is best.

Hi I’m Analdo, just introduce myself like two days ago. Like I mentioned I’m pretty new to the fig community. Just wanted to know if anyone has any rooted cuttings or even airlayer that someone is selling? I’m interested in expanding my fig collection and learn more about different ones. I’m not to familiar with fig buying. I’ve bought some from eBay but I’ve read many post here that they aren’t reliable so I want to buy from someone reliable here on the forum and learn more about them.
Thanks for reading.
You should join the Texas Facebook fig groups. They are such a nice group of people, and they generously share and trade great figs, as well as sell huge trees for cheap.

Are you going to be in the hot dry part or the east of Oklahoma?

The ones of this list all have pretty large eyes expect Negra de Agde, and maybe some of the CDDs, which shouldn't be a problem in the west where its dry and they won't split, but in the east, there might be too much water.

Black Madira aka Figo Preto, BMKK, Madira Island Black, and probably Craven's Craving. BTW this means these may all be the some and not different varieties.
I would avoid the late, maderia types and focus on early Mt. Etna and Adriatic types, maybe even some breba like GM303, Lyndhurst White, Schoeneck, DTE, etc... go ahead and get RLBV, Labrijta, NSDC, Maryland berry, navid's unk, pop's purple, takoma violet, negronne, cest bon.

I would recommend some additional if you are west of green country.

Question we are moving to Oklahoma very soon. Would you still recommend the same ones?
Look up the Oklahoma Fig Growers facebook group. A couple of members are also members in figfanatic. They are a small group but very kind and generous. They have an annual fig cutting swap. And you will learn a lot about which ones work in what part of Oklahoma where climate has a vast range. (US Weather states my area is ‘unique’ lol!)

I'm from OK. At 30 miles east of OKC, your weather is probably similar to mine. I had some issues with splitting with I-258 and WM#1 this year but smaller figs did well. My mom lives over on the Arkansas border. I gave her some trees this year so we will see how those do in that more humid environment.

I see you are looking for a Madeira type. I would suggest Madeira Island Black. This fig had zero splitting and the tightest eye of any of my 20 fig varieties. And it was earlier than my I258 and WM#1- my 2 other later varieties.

I'm southwest of OKC in Blanchard. Do you have any cuttings available for any of your trees?
