I admit to having several garden addictions...but if you take fruit out of the picture...

I love LOVE Japanese Iris. Not regular Iris, only Japanese.
I also love and seem to collect Peonies
I also love hardy Hibiscus
Crinum Lilies ( hardy or not, I like punishment apparently )
My son is big into Carnivorous Plants
I think I have become addicted to passion flower vines ( but that is fruit )
I used to be known as the Sedum Queen...I was a member of the Sedum socity and had over 120 varieties ( no more,k down to maybe a dozen )
And apparently anything that is tropical and I have to drag in over the winter.

I’m currently focused on clearing the overgrown field and doing grafts on pears, persimmons and pawpaw. I would like to plant some mulberry, plums, apples, etc too and eventually have a nice orchard to pass on to family. Of course plenty of my figs will end up planted there too.
One thing I lack, and wish I knew how to do. Grafting.

I love tomatoes. My heirlooms are producing like crazy this year. It was a really dry summer. The plants are still virtually disease free. It's very unusual..... in a good way

I tomato salad with tropea onion, some good olive oil and fresh oregano... it's one of my favourite things in the world to eat. Especially when I have some crusty bread to sop op the olive oil tomato juices!

Now I'm hungry! :D

Native plants! I have over 80 ish species on my tiny 7k sq ft property!

I also enjoy roses, i have quite a few, and i have been enjoying my little laceleaf japanese maple. Previous owners neglected the heck out of it so this winter will be hopefully its final big chop. Ive had to do one every year to get it back into shape.

Also just added 8 8x4 beds to grow veggies.

Last year we got some pink and red lilies. We also got spider lilies and a purple passion flower for my daughter but lost this yr. I have been looking at Lowe's where we got it but nothing. Hopefully they will. 🤞

I'm more into food producing plants, Wife does more of the flowers.
At this point I have to be picky due to space.
Well I'd like to say food producing plants are my only passion, but before I got into food producing plants, i was REALLY into flowers. The more I grew, and the more I figured out I was good with, the more I wanted. There are still fruits I want..I would love, for example, to have a cold hardy Apricot that would do well in Tennessee. Of course, we still don't know where we're moving, but have decided on NOT moving to a colder climate because then where would I plant all of my fruit ? lol. I have a bit of a prepper in me, so I have an orchard ready to plant..and I feel it's important, because, well, you never know. I've been growing and propogating fruits for a long time, in preperations of moving and having them far enough along already to not have to wait years on fruit. Crossing my fingers on that.

I cant handle the heat though so i cant really move south :(

i keep wanting to get maypop but not sure where to grow it since its so aggressive. i do have a fence that i share with a neighbor maybe i can talk to them about it.

Oh also im getting some philadelphia lily bulbs this fall from my nursery guy. Very excited to add them. Mix of edible AND flowers? im in. That and cutleaf coneflower are my super power flower food combos.

Persimmons....if you ever eat a fully ripened premium variety the addiction becomes real... and fast.
I have a Persimmon ' Ichi-Ki-Kei-Jiro' . Of course I dragged it home from Florida one year. They told it it is supposed to be hardy here...and I think it is. I have it in a big pot, like a tree sized pot. It gave me fruit the first year and omg I loved it...but I've had it for 5 years, and ignored it........this year it gave me two blooms, but they weren't pollinated I guess, they dropped off. I'm hoping this is one I can plant when I move ?
