First Ponte Tresa

Thanks. All this is from a graft. It grew very vigorously and set about 12 figs or so. So far, I've had 4 ripen and a couple more swelled up. I am actually surprised how well these developed, as I had problems with the grfted CDD figs.

I can think of so many people who've had difficulty with Ponte Tresa. Trouble with lack of vigor and minimal fruiting. Do you think it would have grown differently on its own roots?

I'm very curious about what rootstock you put it on. This might be a breakthrough moment

I have one PT tree on its own roots too. It grew well, good size, three scafoflds, but no figlets yet.

I used a spare Florea for a rootstock. Most grafts took and the ones that took grew nicely and set multiple figlets. I have no frame of reference for comparison, but it seems to have worked quite well.

Picked another one today... Holy moly, this must be one of the sexiest, the most photogenic figs I've every grown... every time it looks like a million bucks...

It sure looks sexy . Wow it looks spectacular .

Just found another ripe Ponte Tresa. I am impressed every time. Large fig. Very tasty. Closed eye, no splitting whatsoever. Beautiful interior. The recent rain and cooler nights didn't seem to affect it at all.

Really impressive fig. And I just love how well it ripens here for me. Seems quite bulletproof. No splitting whatsoever despite cooler nights and some rain we've had.
