Would love to get a cutting or 2 if possible!I have a good sized healthy tree and can spare a cutting or 2 (depends on how many people ask) late October or early November
Message me late October. I'm hoping to wait as long as possible to take cuttings, but it's been a very cool late summer so not sure exact timing yet. It looks like I have Euclid fruit swelling now.I might want a cutting.
I didn't know that. Wish I had known that a year ago when he posted.I have it growing but hasn't fruited yet.
I got it because I'm happy to trial a Adriatic type that looks to be cold hardy.
The mother tree has been destroyed.
It was a tree that could be clearly seen using Google streetview.
It was growing on the street next to a fire hydrant and was crowding a driveway. I'm guessing the municipality cut it down for clearance to the fire hydrant.I didn't know that. Wish I had known that a year ago when he posted.
Thanks. I found it. Wasn’t there in April 2012 and showing July 2025 it’s still there but trimmed down. Back in July 2022 it was pretty large. It was growing on the street next to a fire hydrant and was crowding a driveway. I'm guessing the municipality cut it down for clearance to the fire hydrant.
Last year I bought from the source. Pencil thick cuttings not lignified or hardened well. One was 2 nodes. One was 3 nodes. $25 each. I was lucky to have the success i did with 1 tree. Anything coming from me now will be high vigor. I wont have too many this year because I'm not pruning much. Next year I should have alot.Everytime I try to buy one, it is out of stock. I guess it is one I need to graft to my Adriatic tree. I think I signed up to get a notification when in stock.
Is there a reason for not pruning much. I need to give my trees a break. I have prune so hard over the past several years the trees need reshaping. The grow like 10ft but don't set that many figs on the heavily pruned trees.I wont have too many this year because I'm not pruning much. Next year I should have alot.
Heavy pruning usually induces higher vegetative growth (For trees that aren't root bound) and the tree has less capacity for fruit production. Is there a reason for not pruning much. Yes I didn't if you weren't pruning because you wanted more figs or just giving you trees a break.Heavy pruning usually induces higher vegetative growth (For trees that aren't root bound) and the tree has less capacity for fruit production.
