Arros Maxima

Not very big yet.
VERY sweet.
Not much flavor.
1st year tree on a large rootstock.
Fruit drys on tree well.
Difficult to detach ripened fruit.
No splitting.
Fruit exhibits different shapes on the tree.
Very nice tree form.

Was given quite a bit of water during ripening period. Rained some last night but not more than 1/8 of inch.

I finally got a graft that grows very well and fruits very well. The previous trees I had bought and grafts I did were low vigor and no fruit.

Love the leaves.

Those are some very pretty leaves, but they look fairly different than the ones pictured on FdMs website for Arros Maxima.

My other trees look more like the leaves from the fd_ website. There is quite a bit of variation. I just picked what I thought was the prettiest one for the pic.

I got the variety from The1F*gman. He sold me a potted tree, but was an up potted air layer with poor roots. Thankfully I cut the tip off just before the tree died shortly after I bought it. Been 2 years trying to get a cleaner version via grafting. This particular tree and rootstock are a perfect match. Teee has grown incredibly well. Seems 100% healthy now.

I am basically convinced it is true to type. I've bought alot from him in the past and can confirm multiple correct varieties, such as cuvert I got from him. His tree quality can be poor, but i don't think he would sell incorrect varieties.

The fruit has a lot of variation in shape on the same tree also

In the pic where he's holding the 2 fruits, hes got the long type and the fat type fruit also. That's what my tree has

my trees has leaves like yours as well

I've had 2 more fruits. Flavor has improved. Sweetness is very high. Its been mid 90s lately, lots of sun. They are drying on the tree perfectly. I've also been giving lots of water and no sign of splitting. Tree is also in high vigor growth mode.

Above are some other leaf shapes from different arros trees. This variety appears to exhibit quite a bit of variation in leaf type.

So far I'm very impressed.

Flavor has improved a lot with each ripened fig. Maybe Arros Maxima is closely related to Longue d Aout. It's kind of like a cotton candy flavor, but I can't decide. What I have decided is that it is delicious and extremely sweet. The skin is slightly thicker, but has no negative flavor. This is a very good eating experience. I'm looking forward to 1/4lb figs in the coming years!

The name of the fig sounds like a character from the Red Rising series. If you don't know what that is, then you're less of a nerd than I am
