Oh man!!! Now thats a beauty!!!! My grafted I-258 has few figlets but they are still small, hoping to ripe this season and finally get a tasteLots of I-258s have ripened over the past few super hot days... Lots are dripping honey... I may be wrong, but I think the heat made them taste a bit worse than usual. Almost as if they ripened too hastily and didn't develop enough flavor.

It sure is. Part of it is a visual effect due to short internodes formed above points of spring pinching, but still, this one loves to fruit. That Sir is amazing fruiting!

LOL summer shuffling. Now that I think of it, last September, I moved my I-258 and two Tia Penyas into my garage grow tent when we were going through a cold spell, especially at night. The unheated garage was very warm, and with the lights on, inside the tent, it would get crazy hot, close to 105-110F. All the figs started to ripen very rapidly, but I did not like the taste. So, after a few days, I pulled them out and brought them back outside. It is not your imagination that too much heat may overaccelerate fruit development to the point that seriously affects its flavor. I even tried to move the plants indoors at night to cool them down and see if that makes a difference. I can't imagine I am doing fig shuffling in the middle of summer.![]()
