I went out today and checked the figs to see if its time to put the bird net but I didn’t see any figs swelling or started to get color, all the figs seems frozen in time 😀 I am unable to see a difference in size from last week. Tomorrow temps supposed to hit 112 … mercy ! 🤪

The trees look healthy, not wilting in the heat. I think mine would do better if I plant them in the ground.

Definitely trees in the ground can tolerate the heat better than being in pots and the roots go deeper and avoid the heat as well

I used to put a collar fan on when I walked out. But that thing was way too loud, I had problem hearing myself after an hour of fan blowing around my ears.

It’s dry heat after all…. That what people say to make it sound tolerable but still like “ hell hot 🥵 , you never get used to it
Back when I was a young buck It didn't really bother me to work in the heat.
But sheesh...an hour out in 90 degrees and I'm ready for a nap. LOL
No way I'd could cope with 112.
Stay safe out there buddy.

First time I heard the term dry heat. I was in the back of a Ford something with sun beating down the leather seats. I felt like I was on a BBQ grill almost ready for flipping. 😅

😂 so true, I just woke up from a nap after grilling few steaks in the grill, the heat takes any energy out of you. I used to wonder how people lived here before AC existed and why would you settle here versus San Diego for example back in the day LOL

I think fig trees are resilient to heat but water is key. I lost 2 citrus trees last year but the fig trees are doing good. If your golden riverside is swelling then your season has started 😀 I have Golden Rainbow and still frozen in time

Very true, i think if the roots are healthy and getting water they will make it.
