The Dymo is slick but really, as long as you're using an embossed material that won't break down in the sun, that's more than good enough. Years ago I used cut up beer ... I mean soda pop cans that I engraved with a ball point pen. Made a hole with a paper hole punch. Every one is still in perfect shape.
When you go embossed the only risk is loss. I can say first hand that minimum of 2 labels is essential. Nothing more frustrating that knowing that a rooted cutting is definitely one of 7 varieties.
On the matter of labelling... it's not only the label but how it's held on. There's a lot of tie wire that works just fine but I like to be able to move my labels around if needed as the trees grow. Several years ago,
@BackwoodsSouthernLawyer put me on to these stainless steel wire keychain loops. They're pretty indestructible and easily removed and replaced.
