As you know, for most people it’s hard to resist plucking them early. Its definitely not light berry when left to ripen properly.
I agree it doesn’t look like your typical Adriatic but the flavor is there.

Smith holds its own. Sure people can include almost any fig with green skin and red interior as "Adriatic". This appears to be the trend.
In my yard, Green Ischia is just excellent. It is among the very first ones to produce figs.

I don't have a lot of space, so I only tried a couple of carefully selected true Adriatics - WM#1 and Unk Prosciutto, and I have just had a small Angelito to join the group, which I have yet to taste. All I can say is that WM#1 and Unk Prosciutto are very, very close to each other, UP tasting a bit better in June/July and WM#1 tasting better in August last year, and both have been superb for me. Last year, both tied for the 2nd spot for taste/flavor. Both have been extremely productive, too.

Smgg, harrys crete & strawberry Verte took a few seasons. They are a tad shy. WM1 waits not & fruits young and vigorously. Battaglia Green is tied for tops with WM1. Adriatic JH is also a beast but not all sources are created equal; gardencrochet provided a fantastic specimen unlike my former version tAdriatic.
I havnt had fruit from Mercedes Gem or Green Mich, but they share very similar leaf types compared to other adriatics. Without eating fruit I'm already thinking they'll be identical.... we'll see.

I'd advise you to double check the Green Michurinska. It is not the "core" Adriatic. To me, it is very different. Verdolino is another one. They are both reported much earlier than the real Adriatic figs.

Sorry poor wording. I meant MGem & Green Mich will be the same. Both unique & different than others in the category

This is interesting. I received the Mercedes GEM from Danny directly. It is a classic "Adriatic" fig. Almost identical to Lake Spur. Green Michurinska is totally different.

Both Verdolino and Green Michurinska are lighter figs. Both are earlier too. The figs are more like Stella or closer to the LdA type. Sure it is very confusing with all those figs with green skin and berry type inside.

I may slightly agree that Verdolino is close to a small LDA, but GM is nothing like LDA.
In taste or shape or size....at least that is my opinion, I have been growing GM for 4 years now and Verdolino is on it's 3rd year.
LDA types do not do good here at all for me.
I get less than 50% of the figs because they spoil or split.
I don't have either of those issues with V or GM.

I'm not saying both are LdA. But the color and texture look like LdA type. All those figs are different than the core Adriatic figs. Different colors and different flavors.
The real or the "core" Adriatic figs hold their own. They are all mid to late season figs, with deep red/strawberry color and very pleasant flavor.
