Look what I found at Lowe's this morning

The Lowes here has some pretty good figs. The one on the left is VdB that was $23, and the one on the right is Beer's Black that was $15. The one in the middle is LSU Gold from Bob Wells nursery/Sorelle farms and it was $45. Do you think the ones from Lowes are tissue culture trees? Does that mean they won't do very good?
Edit: I remembered that the VdB was $23 and not $25 so I changed it.

Wow! They're better than the ones at my Lowe's. Great find. 5 stars for you.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The VdB and beers black look like TC but hard to tell for certain. If they continue to grow spindly like seedlings it’s likely they are.

It’s not surprising that the one from Bob Wells would be from a cutting or layer

Bob Wells is a reputable nursery and it's about a 1 hour drive from here. They have more varieties at the nursery than what is available online. Its worth the drive. I also got a Green Ischia from them that's the same size as the LSU Gold for $45.

Does it indicate where the VdB and BB came from?

I've read to never plant Raspberries near Blackberries... I tried putting in golden raspberries one year and they came back years later but only a few inches out of the ground ... just too hot here for RB's I think...

I believe i confirmed that they don't work well near blackberries, the roots clash and it affects both

To me they look like TC.... but I think it's worth asking them so you know what to expect.
I emailed Dewar Nurseries about the figs I purchased from Lowes. Here is a pic of the pot that mine came in. It is the same as the pot in the pics that Figgerlickinggood posted. Here is also the message that I sent Dewar and the reply that they sent back to me. So I would say that the figs at Lowes are not tissue cultures1000005365.jpg

So they didn't answer my question at all.

No, they didn't. I don't think it was intentional... Of course, all figs are propagated. That's a surprising response though from....well, anyone.. I think they may have left someone a bit green to handle incomming emails. it might be better to ask where they source these fig trees.

If you want to go down the rabbit hole... reply as follows:

"I need to speak with your manager. Could you please put me in touch with them? Let them know that the Dewar trees I bought were not propagated"

Given the previous reply, I would hope at very least that the staff would get a bit of training.... and hopefully an answer for you.

I think it would be easier to call them instead of this back and forth with emails. I don't know if I will continue down that rabbit hole. The Lowes figs are growing faster than my other figs.

Here is the Celeste that Lowes just got. They are $29.98. It's been difficult for me to not buy one of them. I have an addiction.
