First figs to awaken are Caprifigs

Seems that my caprifigs are the first to wake up in my location and the first amongst them was Capri O (see pic).

Stanford was a about 5 days behind Capri O followed by Adam Apricot and then Girsh and King Asohka (simultaneously) and now Saleeb and Farmersville Caprifig Unk are starting to awake as well.

I do have about 6 other regular figs that are waking up but they started only a few days ago around the time Girsh woke up.

I'm still not sure if Girsh's Mammae crop is persistent but I do have 4 of them so there might be a good chance they have the wasp (if not persistent) and thus my final journey on colonizing the fig wasp begins!

You were so right about Girsh being able to host the wasp - It just needs to be both Mature AND large since it appears that Girsh's Mammae crop doesn't show up untill large.

AND both of its Profichi crop and Mammae crop are dry enough (to house the wasp) as opposed to it's Mammoni crop which seems to be wet (edible).

I'm not sure but I hope Stanford's Mammoni crop is dry if not then Saleeb should do unless you happen to know if GxY (or any other Capri youve onserved) has a Mammoni crop that's dry (enough).

That's great to hear @Fig Gazer! SR-35 came highly recommended by @GoodFriendMike.
I'm happy I took his advice. The cuttings you sent me (I started rooting them on Jan 2nd),
are starting to take off (as do the other cuttings you kindly sent me!).

Out of your six regular waking is one of them unknown Pastilliere? It's been my earliest amongst a host of others for the last 2 years in pots on the East Coast.

Man I've forgotten about SR-35 - I was after GxY, SR-35 and Anapumu (sp?) initially but might need to get them after all as I would only want 4-6 wasp hosting Capris.

Cinnamon Bear sounds pretty damn good!
 
CINNAMON BEAR : Was found by ERIC D. "FIGTATOR" ,The mother tree was porpusly killed by landskapers . i have a 10' tall single standard example in my "capri" patch . The ripe profici has a brown collered skin and the skin is soft ,moist,sweet and tastes of cinoman hence the name figtator gave it ,still dry enough inside to host the wasp but not in huge numbers .

I have two trees. One is in a #45 pot growing in bush form.
It is a pretty tree.

Wow! In like a lion! A very strange sight for me in February! :)

Gonna hafta definitely grab me SR-35 and CB for the wasps.

Yeah - here I thought Girsh would have to be like 15 ft tall with a huge canopy to push out Mammae.

Any idea if Girsh's Mammae crop is persistent - a tiny part of me wants to hear it isn't since tha would mean I have wasp already lol.

That's sounds amazing!

Reminds me of the infamous Muad Dib that didn't make it - I got close TWICE but thems the breaks!
