FigFanatic DONATION /FigGazer action # 2

Did I win or lose??? I’m not sure, I’ve never done anything like this before but I watched the clock until 5 and then the bid for $220 came in??? Ugh, I don’t have a thick skin for this kinda stuff, being so new I should have stayed in the background like I usually do but now I’m crying my eyes out :0/
Im a terrible gambler lol!

Congrats to the winner and condolences to the backup bidder.
I saw it mentioned before that it can be hard to call because of the lack of a accurate time stamp.

Not sure if our post went in at the 7:59-8:00 minute or 8:00-8:01 minute. We were trying to bid at 7:59 but due to the 30 second wait the forum makes you wait between posts we had to wait closer to the wire than intended.

Yikes!

How does it work? Once it's 5:00pm does it remain "5:00pm" until it reaches 5:01?

Phil is going to need to decide who gets the glorious box of figgy wonders.... and who gets a field-dressed mallard. 😯

Here is the source code for the displayed "Today at 5:00 PM" bid post by SpiritFarmVa

"<time class="u-dt" dir="auto" datetime="2025-01-17T17:00:03-0800" data-timestamp="1737162003" data-date="Jan 17, 2025" data-time="5:00 PM" data-short="1h" title="Jan 17, 2025 at 5:00 PM" itemprop="datePublished">Today at 5:00 PM</time>"

The datetime value indicates T17:00:03

Hope this info helps Fig Gazer in making the decision.

Does that mean 3 seconds after the clock struck 5?

"The <time> datetime Attribute in HTML is used to specify the date and time when the text was deleted/inserted. It also defines the machine-readable date/time of the <time> element. The date-time is inserted in the format YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss."

Based on the datetime, it was inserted 3 seconds after 5pm.

I suppose it's a matter of interpretation. Thanks for the clarity on this time... I don't believe I've ever witnessed such a photo finish in something like this.
