What are your favorite unique flavored figs?

Banana popsicle.... that definitely is different. I have one going into season 2... so im curious i i get the same taste
It blew us away. It's a flavour we really like and we all picked it up. The only downside was there were only a handful of ripe figs. I'm really hoping production is up next season. The tree also took longer than average to hit its stride. Three, maybe 4 years... Just going by memory at the moment.

That's hard to pick - so I'll just post all my unique favored figs that I've tasted thus far...

St. Martin --- Floral
Calderona --- Hibiscus
Paternoster --- Cantaloupe
Black Tuscan --- Multi Berry
Casalore --- Banana Tropical Berry
Jacksonville Yellow --- Hog Plum
Faja de Olvelha --- Guava Berry
Rigato del Salento --- Pineapple Tropical
Dolca - Mexican Fruit Paste Candy Bar
Reculver --- Complex Sugar Fruit
Rionon Santana - Ripe Mango Honey
Nero di Roca -- Sour Patch Kids Berry

I'm not sure if this was due to immaturity but I genuinely tasted a candy like berry with the sourness of Sour Patch Kids!

What do you normally detect with your tree being that you've had it the longest out of all of us por favor y gracious

Thanks man - I only acquired the majority of them since they were being touted as very good varieties (without the unique flavor descriptions I tasted) along with the lesser known I gambled with (Jacksonville Yellow) and the one I found (RS).

Oh you will!

Speaking of... I need to check my messages from the other side and see what variety I was gonna send you - I'll toss in a pair of RS now that it's a little larger.

Yikes, I can't remember what it was and don't have access to all my old msgs. :)
I'd love to try out the RS though :)

Thanks man

You got it 🙂👍

Turns out its Jacksonville Yellow.

My description:
The fig was sweet and a little juicy- but what makes me like it so far is the unique taste!

At first I detected a bright tartness to it and then the flavor was different than any fig I've tried - it had a very distinct tropical taste and after eating the second half I was finally able to find the perfect comparison.

It tasted like a tropical "fruit" known as Jocote.

I had to look up the more known or perhaps the English name for Jocote they are Hog Plum/Jamaican Plum/Spanish Plum.

I love the taste of Jocote especially when it's in Drink Salad.

Heck yea, looks and sounds great, it's hard to find good unique figs, so I jump at the chance to try'em when they pop up :)

It's definitely unique and hope it maintains that flavor.

I had another later a whole season later and the skin had ripened yellow but lost the Hog Plum flavor and instead was more tropical.

I've gotten some pure candies from Adriatic types. JHA had a nice twang to it as well. Although in hotter weather it wasn't as good for me...

Many years growing figs and it wasn't until only recently that I really got this...
Which reminds me I need to get Jolly Rancher and also an Heirloom Celeste type by DeepSouth (again - cuttings died) that he said tasted like Grape Big League Chew.
