I just logged out to test.
You can hit the donate button with out being signed in.

On my phone I have to hit the 'menu' button (3 'horizontal lines' button in the top left). The donate button is right at the top of the drop down. That reminds me that I should donate something!

@Fig Gazer I just checked while not logged in and it appears one does not need to be logged in for it to work. Is someone telling you this is an issue, or are you just being pro-active?

Great ! been having folks (only a couple) say they came over here to DONATE and could not figure out how to do it ? Heck ia'm as big a computer iliterate as posible and i would try a click on that grate big yellow DONATE sign .seem intuitive to me ! Looks like every thing is working here ,I will train any one that can not figure it out .
