I was gifted a half a dozen cuttings

Last year, most of the cuttings were rooted using the fig-pop method; a few were rooted in 100% perlite; others were wrapped in moist towel paper, placed inside a Tupperware and left under the sink where it is warm and dark. Towards the end of the season when I received some unsolicited cuttings that were meant for grafting, I stuck them in tiny coffee plastic cups filled with promix… and they rooted!
This year, I may do this:

I don't root cuttings indoors much anymore. (only 2 so far this year).. but in all the ones I've done over the years, the two single most significant problems with rooting cuttings for me has been

1) Rot of apical buds - Solution: I remove them now

2) Shock on transition from a pre-rooting stage (perlite, sand etc) to a potting mix. Not to say that I don't know many who do just what's in the video very successfully... Only that I personally have loads of problems when moving them that young. I think the change in humidity and root damage is part of it. I try to avoid this issue with the pops by skipping the first up-pot altogether. I keep them in the pops until they're quite developed. I've even put the cutting in a small pot and popped the whole thing with the pot in the bag. If you do that I'd recommend mounding the mix on the pot so you don't have too much empty space.

That's just me though...

I used to use the humidity some yrs ago, I lost too many in the transition so I gave up on it.
But kudos to those who are successful at it.
And free cuttings...who doesn't like those. Lol
