Your most annoying animal pests?

We are all in various regions and have different pests.

What thing is the most annoying for you to deal with?

I had a ground squirrel I battled for a while but... well I won that fight.

Right now the biggest annoyance for me is cats from the farm next door that roam around, they like to poop and dig in my plant beds and pots 🤬

We have about the same usual suspects as everyone else, you probably know them, squirrels, deer, groundhogs, coons, opossum, coyotes but now there’s a new player in town. Showed up literally at my front door the day after I moved into this house last September. SLP spotted lantern fly. They’re a whole new ball of wax, probably never be eradicated.IMG_2126.jpegIMG_2127.jpeg

Before the unusual snow and freeze. A opossum made a nest in my garage.
I grabbed it by the tail a few times and set it out of the garage.
I kept seeing it and then noticed the nest. So me and the wife decided to let it stay warm and care for its babies.
Now it is still in there and the smell is not the best. Besides that the squirrels dig up my seedlings.
Ok done venting about pest :)

Birds and ambrosia beetle. Neighborhood cats are probably why we don't have squirrels in the neighborhood. So they are welcome.

Ambrosia beetles are the worst I guess, others just eat your fruits while they can potentially kill your trees.
Though some critter will eat the bark...I do not have that issue except slugs once in a while.

I am going to try to paint the trunks this spring in hopes that it detours the ambrosia pests.

Rats and rabbits eat the bark off my trees in the winter so all the in ground trees have plastic trunk guards. In the summer, the squirrels are the most annoying, chewing and destroying figs even before they ripen.

Birds in the summer always eating my fruit before I can get to it 🤦🏽‍♂️ so bad that I had to plant a mulberry tree as a decoy and that only really buys me time until July.

Squirrels in the fall .. they dig up my pots like no tomorrow. Every single pot would have massive holes in them, daily no matter how many times I refilled it lol. Possums and stray cats constantly using my garden beds and larger pots as a litterbox .. I’m tired of these animals but no matter what I never kill them like some people do

Definitely agree on the no killing part.

Are you 7b Northeast Jersey or 7b South Jersey?

I have chestnut and walnut trees nearby and the squirrels in late summer early fall dig like crazy in my pots to bury their treasure .
