My trees still alive, kicking and producing figlets although not good tasting. Low temps high 40s and low 50s … so boring 😀

That's wild.... It's all about root zone temps though. Until they drop, the leaves wont either. That are a good frost.... But better if the temps drop slower
since November when the day temp was above 80 & low temps around 50 ( that’s considered cold in our zone) the fig taste became bland however figs in cold zones like yours would have the best taste since these temps are probably middle of summer for you, this I cant understand why?

About a month ago we had a cold snap, here in south Louisiana. it got down to about 25 one night and 30 the next night, zapped all the leaves on my trees and about an inch on the tips, took about a week for them all to fall off. It has gotten pretty warm until about 2 days ago

Nights don’t typically get that chilly for me until well into October. I usually won’t drop freezing until beginning of November. This year we had an unusual earlier cold snap though. I’ve eaten fresh figs (ok but not great) into first few days of November

You took a freeze before me…. Now that’s weird.

Difference here is that it’ll get a lot colder yet
