Sorry fig family! Life’s been really kicking lately! Show some updates for me! Just been munching on JHAs the last couple weeks. Maybe 1-2 a week. Everything else is just hanging out in the heat!

Pretty much routine. Although my Chicago Hardy is ripening. Also today all the city of Staunton is under a BOIL WATER advisory because there was a large water main break in the city water system. Schools were closed today because of it. So I’ve boiled water today and will have to do it for a couple of days. It’s always something. 🫩

This one was like 2-3 days ago. Probably the best out of the bunch all year. Stupid good. They’re so thick. Like dense.

Oh man that sucks, I remember having to do that in Louisiana. No bueno.

Thanks to some odd timing this year, I was able to ripen most of the BMs indoors. I am already through 3/4 of it. That helped me evade the critters and the heat outside. Good that the trees don't ripen at the same time. I am on the last of Mt Etnas and they are back outside enjoying the sun.

Critters continue to avoid traps so I have to figure something out.

I’ve been patiently waiting for the first few AJH to ripen over the last several days.

Meanwhile, my other trees have really kicked into production mode, with the Etnas now leading the charge. Today reinforced my daily fig consumption limit of 6-8 figs/day.

I'm just starting to see a few ripening here and there. An Unknown Mt Etna type, De Tres Esplets, and LSU Tiger are leading the charge this year. The 1st Leaf unknown Etna actually beat my 2nd leaf DTE to first ripe fig. The DTE is starting to color up multiples or the 30ish figs on the plant. Won't be long 🙂

Do you actually live IN Dallas?

Yeah, I am not sure how the late varieties figs ripen so early. I didn't do anything except I didn't have time to move them out of the garage in early April. I had couple Cdds already and this is only mid-August.
