What does your state Nursery License cost?

Here in Maryland my state nursery license has increased this year from $110 to $170 and that is for 1 acre or less in cultivation. Maryland requires a license to "advertise, sell, distribute, install, or produce nursery stock".
I'm curious what other states are charging for a license and what your permitted to do under that license ?

The cost of an Oklahoma nursery license is $25 for each business location. Additionally, there are inspection fees of $1 per acre and per 1,000 square feet of greenhouse area inspected.

Does your inspector actually inspect your growing area(s) and plants or do they simply show up and sign off without inspecting anything?

I’ve seen both instances with county building inspectors.

New Jersey licenses are $85 for under 2 acres.

In Maryland , they do show up and spend some time inspecting things, and making sure you are up on any certifications you need. They don't have a lot of pests or disease that they are looking for with fig trees though.

$75 for South Carolina for our farm that is less than 2 acres. I have a great relationship with the inspector and he is very helpful when additional certifications are needed for new plant species.

For Iowa
All non winter hardy or annual plants do not require inspection or license to sell in Iowa if grown in Iowa. All winter hardy plants(anything that above ground growth survives) has to have a license to sell in Iowa. So essentially figs grown and sold in Iowa don’t require anything to sell, but I get the license to sell interstate which all states require something like a license/permit to import. Cost $30 per acre inspected per year, inspector comes, looks things over closely, checks for anything invasive, disease or whatever else may be an issue. Once done gives the state a go ahead to process a license. Inspection takes 30 minutes or less but the staff are very helpful and open to all lines of communication to help you grow better. I’ve text them for Alaska, California, and Arizona requirements and they do the legwork deciphering the laws to make sure I’m 100% legal shipping there.

One year I bought a plant with spider mites which ran through all figs right at moving trees outdoors in spring. I brought up the mites and they looked them over closely, made a note on my license and gave me a good list of chemicals to take care of it. Did not affect my license but must be marked on there so commercial buyers can see it when looking up a license.
