Tulle Fabric as Bird Netting

I finally had to install bird netting last night and tonight with figs swelling and birds on the attack.

This is the third season I’m using the same tulle fabric as bird netting and it has worked and held up great. It’s an inexpensive and easy option to protect several trees if birds are your primary thieves.

Setup takes a few minutes when working alone and harvesting and reattachment takes even less time. You’re able to cut and configure to the size you need. I staple 9’ widths together and this crude method of attachment has worked really well.

I doubt this method will work on raccoons, opossums or determined squirrels, but has worked great against birds the last few years.

Currently, you can get a bolt (9’x150’) for $36.00 in white or $14.00 in ivory at link below.

That’s good stuff. I use it on my cucumbers, and berry bushes and strawberries when SWD and wasps/hornets arrive.
