Time to prune before storing for winter.

Pruning is such a tedious task for me… Some difficult decisions to make and too many things could go wrong.
My Smith, BMKK, and a few other trees have two healthy main trunks, and a Martinenca Rimada has 4 identical main trunks (hard to believe but it has a very nice shape). They are in 15-gallon pots and receive enough nutrients to sustain the multiple trunks. Florea and Hardy Chicago, in 22-gallon pots, were grown as bushes and produced hundreds of figs this season.

On a slightly less serious note, I refuse to prune this magical Black Madeira 😂

Yeah… pruning is a thing. (That was so deep. I know.😂)

Can be very rewarding when it comes out well and you get a beautiful shape. Seems easier for this to happen when storing your trees for winter.

I have seen some beautiful photo's that are clearly A.I. Some are so good it is hard to tell if they are real or not. New times. But A.I. can not answer members questions as good as the others members that have seen first hand. Glad you joined.

It is inevitable....pruning must happen for that killer tree shape, until a stupid $@&%*!#^ climbs up to take what isn't theirs and breaks half of your tree off because it is fat from your harvest that you put so much work into getting only to have it swiped by swiper who refuses to enter your live trap and take a free num num from inside because his intentions are to molest your trees leaving partial figs hanging for you to see which is maddening in itself because they didn't even have the decency to eat the whole thing because they're greedy and want to eat them all so you get absolutely none! :dodgy:

Okay okay....sorry, kind of went on a rant there. :D

Will you be posting any before and after pictures? I always like to see how others prune and the reasoning behind which specific cuts they make.

I save my inground pruning until Spring and of my potted trees, I’ll be pruning Preto hard to reshape and the others will get very minimal pruning this year.

yes, I will take pictures showing sequencing / different steps.
