I'm posting to let everyone know I am handing over the reins of the Community Cuttings Giveaway to @PapaFig and his son, @AAAJacks. I understand @Opiem10 will also be helping out.

The Community Cuttings Giveaway program was started by @Fig Gazer with a generous gift of 400 plus cuttings last dormant season. It is a way for members of the forum to give back (through extra cuttings) and for existing members and (especially) new members to become more involved in the forum and experience the pleasure of successfully growing their own fruit.

It's been an immense honor to serve the community here as a (volunteer member), and servant. I trust the program will be in good hands going forward. Please give your support (and extra cuttings) to these gentlemen.

I truly appreciate the time, effort, and dedication which @Figless (Greg) put into starting and developing the Community Cuttings Giveaway program. His concept helped so many newer members build bigger and better collections of fig trees and foster their participation on the forum.

As the torch is passed to @PapaFig (Keith) and his son AAAJacks, there surely are big shoes to fill, and I look forward to assisting them in any way possible. As a community, I hope we remain altruistic and continue to pay it forward through this invaluable program.

If any member has extra cuttings at the end of the 2025 season, please consider donating them to our giveaway program. Any, and all, donations are greatly appreciated. Rest assured, your extras will find new homes among the new growers looking to try their luck at rooting cuttings for the first time or for more experienced members happy to receive sticks on their wish list. You can reach out to @PapaFig or myself (@Opiem10) for details regarding where you can you’re your extra cuttings.

It's the engagement of our members which makes this forum so special. Let’s keep it going the way @Figless envisioned.

To future donators, please be sure to have fruited and verified your varieties as it is very important that anyone receiving cuttings gets true to type cuttings. Propagation and spreading of wrong varieties is a problem we all want to avoid. Thanks again!

I would like to thank @Figless and the other members involved in this program before me. I hope to live up to their trust and example.

Our goal is to build the community one new member at a time. There are certain Ah-ha moments, like when you see roots for the first time and the first time you taste are really good fruit, and we want as many as possible to experience these.

We also want to keep active members engaged and rewarded. We are looking forward to an exciting cuttings season with everyone!

I have been into figs only 3 months when I tasted my first fresh fig, and I have been hooked ever since.

I am truly so grateful for this group, especially as a newbie, for all your experience, your feedback, and all your work to keep this a thriving, active community.

And the cuttings program and the generosity of all of you just blows me away. (Especially after a rocky start with being conned few times).

When my baby figs get big enough, I will pay it forward!
