Sumard is on the board

Sumard is on the board! Ripe, but I like them dry, and they dry very well on the tree. I picked them because I literally had to chase a squirrel from the tree and didnt trust they’d last until tomorrow. I was probably a minute from losing them. Strawberry jam and sweet. You should have seen this big 55 year old sprinting accross the yard to save a fig… laughable. I was out of breath. The organza bags and insect netting are coming out!!!

Where is everyone finding these new varieties? with the funkiest names of all time??

Is there some secret level in the fig game I'm not privy to??

Ehhh, probably can't talk about it....
It is one of Thierry’s & Bills figs at FDMUSA that I decided to trial. Third year tree in pot.

Oh, that makes sense. I was on their verboten list from day one of that enterprise, so I didn't really ever do a deep dive on what they sell, because they refused to sell to me.
That sucks! But it saves you money. There are too many figs to collect anyways and so many figs are similar to one another that you probably already have something similar enough. I’m at the point where I have to cull and refine and be very picky about buying one to replace one. I said that this year then started more than 20 cuttings. But next year it’s no joke.
