Squirrels ate all my cherries again

The tree is beside a fence (squirrel highway) and they ate all the cherries off the tree already. They were not even close to ripe. I need to fine a way of deterring them from using the fence

They seem to nibble many unripe fruit and drop them to the ground.
If it was not for my wife. They would be stew.

How frustrating! I wouldn't mind sharing a little, but when they take them all, not cool!
