Single nodes

I didn’t record the exact date I started it but it’s been about 3 weeks. I obviously can’t check for roots right so I can’t tell you for sure they have roots, but I’m fairly confident they do. Waiting on WM#1 to send out growth, but I planted it 2 weeks behind the others. The other three are Ondata, MIB, and Borda Barrquer. The last 2 being notoriously slow turds for me. The BB fig pop does not have visible roots or bud swell. The MIB fig pop just sent out a visible root.

Pretty exciting considering the amount of time along with the size of the cutting, congrats!

I’ve started to dabble with single node cuttings as well, but have a few weeks to go still, just potted them yesterday.

Thanks, I have rooted single nodes before,(typically I would graft them, but no fig trees right now) I just wanted to find the easiest, laziest way possible. The only work I did post planting, was check them after about two weeks and cut a little slit in the plastic wrap above the new growth.

Very interesting!! I am trying some single nodes as well. I cut them so that I had as much rooting surface below the node as possible and potted them vertically in small 4” pots with the node just above the ProMix. But your “cake” pan idea to mimic a fig pop is quiet genius!! I will be following this one. Please keep us posted.
