I recently watched an interview with Bill from OTBP where he credits the black landscape paper with raising the overall soil temperatures so that more figs ripen. I’m crossing my fingers he’s right because I collect figs like I live in California!
@bushdoctor82 My Ponte Tresa was producing over the weekend. I shared one with a friend and, based on his assessment, put the rest in the freezer for jam. They look beautiful, but the taste isn’t as good as it should be.
Do you still have leaves on your trees? Mine still do!
Only the ingrounds against the house still have leaves - green and healthy from house siding to ~2’ out from siding, then yellow and/or full defoliation. It’s amazing what a micro climate can do.
