The Spotted Lantern Fly. An interloper that stowed away inside cargo from China. They are prevalent in Pennsylvania,New Jersey and now showing up here in northern Virginia and yes they are here in my city of Staunton Virginia. Had one here literally at my front door last year. Here’s a video I saw this morning on how best to deal with them.

 
I hope the birds learn to love these and feast on them...what a great source of food for them, if they can just learn that they are okay to eat!
 
I have some that are now adults in Pittsburgh, PA. There are alot on my trees at this point. I'm thinking about hitting them with some Spinosad
