The long awaited day.... I was hoping to give it another day but I decided to get ahead of the rain we just had so I had my first taste. The first thing that blew me away was how much it dried on the tree. Big difference from Friday.

I don't remember for certain but this may be the first fig I've had that I'd describe as figgy/honey. It was sweet but not a sugar-bomb. Sticky and a little seed crunch. Nice thin skin too. Very thin but no breakage. Very impressive

I am curious to know from @Kid Fig if they typically come in at this size.

Really good fig man....Steller find. I'm looking forward to eating a bunch more that are on the tree. Thank you for releasing it... :)

I'm curious... how many duds did you have to trial to come across a beauty like this? Must've been like shucking a thousand oysters then finding a perfect pearl

Awesome!

Well what's crazy about RS is that it can produce small to large figs lol - I can't explain it but they will vary in size, but for the most part they are a little larger than your sample (medium).

Sounds like it was the typical "first fig" as they can come out less than what is standard - I can't say I've detected a figgy flavor to it.

I'm glad it's up to par and I can't wait untill you post on the others - especially when they get jelly bag soft - and under regular conditions you can let them hang without spoiling.

It was my first and only find - I would have loved to do some major fig hunting but after finding RS I just hanged my hat up on hunting lol!

Here's one that's well over 30 grams...

Oh baby! I want that one! So cool that they vary in size so much!

Lol - if you can recall RS was my "Tiniest Fig in the World" on the otherside so it really goes from one side of the spectrum to the other.

I guess this makes it quite unique - definitely not for commercial use since it can produce small figs sporadically.

I couldn't tell you if I'd be impressed or not should one season end up producing nothing but tiny figs - cool looking but so small that the local birds and Fig Beeatles would starve lol.
