Has anyone used this product to disinfect cuttings? If so, can you walk me through your process and whether you think it was helpful for stored cuttings? I have typically done the scrub with soap and then soak in 10% bleach for 3 minutes but I still got some that were moldy.

Thanks

Bobby

I don't treat 99% of the cuttings I get or send out. No reason to treat a healthy cutting. But I do treat the ones that come in with mold. Most of the time due to to much time in the post. But sometimes just not healthy cuttings.

How long are you able to store them without molding? And how are you storing them? Open plastic bag in the fridge?

I can root 200 cuttings at once. I generate WAY more than that. And sometimes they mold before I can get to them. Or if I'm storing them to sell/trade... I'm just trying to troubleshoot the molding.

I have just started using it, so cant comment in effectiveness yet. I am also about to try liqui cop, and also a combination of the 2. Both seem like great products. Per the instructions on physan 20, I soaked the cuttings for 10 min. Scrub while soaking is probably preferable

Bleach has never worked for me. It never stops the mold. Only beneficial microbes have stopped mold for me so far. However I am looking to treat the cuttings AND have beneficial microbes in whatever rooting medium I choose.
