Hi folks, seems like most people here already know each other so I figured I’d introduce myself. Been growing figs since 2021 and have shared some pics via Facebook but haven’t been on the fig forums. Look forward to contributing to the new site here and learning from fellow figgers. Here’s a few pics of my figs from this season. Of the 30-40 varieties I’ve tried so far my favs have been black celeste, VDB, white maderia and I-258. Rdb, dte and Campanerie are great also and worth having for their early ripening and productivity.

Welcome to the forum @SteveG those are some delicious looking figs. Is that Black Celeste in the last photo?
Yes it is. One of my first to ripen and my all around fav but they have to be left on the tree to fully ripen and shrivel. Many of the pics I see seems like many ppl pick them too early, at which point they are just average. I have been making copies of this tree and am now up to 7.

Welcome to the forum @SteveG. I Started growing fig in 2020. When I say started I mean it was my maiden voyage. I’ve learned some wonderful things during my voyage. By the look of your pictures above your a quick learner. They look absolutely great. Look forward to seeing many more. 5 star rating for those figs of yours.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

@SteveG - Representing Milton!

Great looking figs you have there. Did you start most of those from cuttings?
Thanks! Yes, first year I bought 6 trees late in the season from a gentleman near me, 5 of which turned out to be the wrong variety, then the past 3 winters I’ve started most of the rest from cutting. 60+ varieties so far 100+ trees total and adding 15 more this year.

Very cool. In one of the pictures it looks like you’re in a greenhouse. Would love to see pictures of that sometime if you have the opportunity. I’ve been toying with the idea of trying to squeeze one into my place… Somewhere.
