STOP! SMELL! Then decide...

I used this stuff on some indoor trees a few years ago. Be very sure that you can tolerate the smell of this stuff for some time before committing. Especially if you plan to use inside your home or somewhere you spend a lot of time. Also, test it over an extended period... because at first it just smells sort of "earthy" and not so bad.... After a while (for me) it just permeated into my head and it drove me crazy. I can't even describe the smell. It's weird.

My wife (who was not pleased) described the smell as, "when using an upright vacuum with a beater on a rug, and the beater grabs onto a string of fiber and they pull out and spin around and heat up and make a particular burning rug smell". She was very specific.

If you don't mind the smell it might work... If I was a bug, I'd be gone.

I used it from the start on my fig pops. 1 tsp per gallon of water and same after up potting. Then once larger and moved outside I haven’t used it. If I see any gnats I would treat them again.

I think as long as I saw gnats I was doing it every two weeks, but some use it at every watering.
It's not suppose to harm the tree.
When I saw the gnats on Saturday I mixed up my 2gal water can with gnatrol. I gave it the full dose. 2 tablespoons in the 2 gallon can. I drenched the 20 gallon grow bag with the entire 2 gallons of it. The very next day (yesterday) I checked it and to my surprise there was still very many gnats walking around on top of the soil and if I banged on it or blow across the surface of the soil they would all fly around and land back down to the surface. I was shocked they were still there alive and kicking. So that being said should I still wait 2weeks or dose them again tomorrow? I’m afraid if I give it again tomorrow the tree will be so saturated it will rot out and die for sure.

It soaks into the soil and kills the larva, may not do too much to the gnats them selves.
The larva are what kills the trees, they eat the tender roots.
