My trees today

Today I decided to uncover the 2 cuttings I planted directly in ground old Italian man way. Not sure if they've rooted but they are as beautiful green as the day I planted them. I also gave all my potted trees their first big drink of Jack's 20 20 20 fertilizer to help them wake up.

Those are two great varieties Teresa. You're going to love having them.

I pulled all my bigger trees out of the shed (they were otherwise unprotected) and lots of them have taken damage. I trimmed off all of the obviously dead parts down to better looking wood to let them wake up.

Since then, the rabbits have found them and are peeling the healthy bark for me

That's a good sign, I want to try that method but I feel I'd have to dig a hole and put different medium in it.
Otherwise it's just clay that stays too wet id think.
I may give it a try

I have had to chicken wire a few places because of rabbits.
Especially my strawberries.
