My New New Favorite Rooting Method

I put the bottom node in the water. That might explain why the upper node next to the lid is the one with the most rooting bumps forming.
Yeah. This is my first time using a bubble cloner, but it seems like it is better if it is not directly touching. I never even changed the water. I don't recommend that, I am just experimenting.

In gardening in general, bubblers work really well, especially for plants that require a longer time in water propagations, like monsteras.

We had one a few years ago and used it to root tomatoes and a few green figs. I have noticed water bottles cut in half and tomato cuttings 5 or 6 inches long with the sides scraped works like a charm. You can't put more than 4 or so in each bottle or they get slimy. And you have to change the water every day. I think because the sink aeriated oxygenates the water somewhat so it's almost like having a bubbler.

Hey Steven - Tonight I made a new bubbler with an easily-removed basket and set it up with the cutting about an inch above the water. I checked it 20 minutes later and had just a few speckles of water on it. Does that sound about right?

Nice! That looks great. It has a much better seal than mine.

That sounds about right, but maybe give it a day. I noticed mine was soaked the next day, even though it was not in the water.

Will do. I'm also only using one air stone. Maybe I'll buy that dual outlet pump you linked to earlier.

For anyone following this experiment, here is an update. The 1+ year old cutting grew so many roots in the bubbler that it filled the container. I had to pot it up. You can see it in the back left corner. I am quickly running out of room.

I decided to try rooting some Jerusalem Sage in the bubbler. As you can see, the grafted cutting is also loaded with roots.

I called my old grow location the Prop Cubby. What do you think of this space under the sink being the Sprout spout? 😄
Or maybe the Faucet Forest?

Anyway. This is so fun, it is getting out of hand. I have peppers on a shelf.
