I spent like 65 in a rooted I258 cutting one time and my dog knocked it over and it died. I was upset about that lmao. That all depends on the market.
Most I have spent was $50 to $80 on one cutting.
I don't recommend it. But part of collecting.
That $50 dollar cutting is now worth $5 to $10.
You really took risking it for the biscuit to another level lmao. How’d that turn out?$600 for 5 gallon CESSAC ,$ 140 FOR ONE NODE CUTTING ,JUST FOR A CHALLANGE .95 % OF MY COLLECTION WAS FREE OR COLLECTED ON PUBLIC DOMAIN .thanks to all that gave me all these cuttings !!!!!!!!
I guess the 66$ “back in the day” would be like 250-300 now? Hahaha. I haven’t gone too crazy on cuttings, I’m too scared to kill them.Around 2011 or 2012 I paid $66 for 3 cuttings of Valle Negra. I mentioned it when my dad visited for dinner and he said I was nuts and told Linda to stop me from spending all of her money! In January 2016 I bought the first cuttings of White Madeira #1, 3 small cuttings about the size of pencils, and paid about $225 but had a higher snipe bid. I like both of them quite a lot.
Lmao to be honest, the GXY/Yanolani that was sent to me I was questioning if I should even mess with it. BUT I did, and honestly, that one has probably grown the best for me. Just everything overall. When I up potted the Stella I probably should’ve waited, but it had pretty good roots. When I up potted the GXY, it was probably borderline getting root bound.I bought CDA when it was first coming out. Grew great and sent cuttings out to others.
It was worth the $50. The $80 was on a Capri. Who else would spend that on a fig you cant eat?![]()
GXY ripened profichi with out the wasp. So might be good you kept it.Lmao to be honest, the GXY/Yanolani that was sent to me I was questioning if I should even mess with it. I haven’t even researched that whole side of things yet. I need to keep it alive before I dive in. Maybe next year? lol. I don’t even know if I have any “worth” pollinating? lolGXY ripened profichi with out the wasp. So might be good you kept it.
Pollinated figs are good.
The Sicilian 33 looks like a crazy good fig from google pics lol. My whole thing with the figs are, if they’re crazy good like that, I’d want to put it in ground in hopes of it growing huge like my dads and have too many figs to know what to do with lol.$150 on a 1 gallon Angelito
$125 on a Sant Mateu cutting
$30 on a Sicilian 33 cutting ( at the time that was a lot for me to spend on a cutting, turned out to be a great deal )
WELL when you consider i basicly give away everything i grow ,i was not risking any biscuits . CESSAC was in demand and i helped kill the market ,and spread it around ,not my top ten fig by any means . WHAT exactly does "risking it for the biscuit " mean ?You really took risking it for the biscuit to another level lmao. How’d that turn out?
600$ for one tree is a pretty good chunk of change especially IF anything goes wrong. Cessac looks like a nice fig from pictures I’ve seen. Glad it all worked out for you!WELL when you consider i basicly give away everything i grow ,i was not risking any biscuits . Surprised she even lets you have one with all of the goodies you have!I can't tell you, my wife may be bugging my pc.![]()
