Maybe a common fig but…

It’s absolutely wonderful. My Chicago Hardy is now ripening. It’s my very first CH. I always was uninterested in the variety because of the way people would view it as less desirable because it’s “common”. Well I have to say it’s absolutely worth having one. Not only is it a workhorse but it’s Delicious. They’re even bigger in size than I thought they would be. Actually it is so similar in size and taste as the Sal’s G I had. Now I wondering about other “common” varieties. They should at least be given a chance to prove their worth. Here’s the first figs that have ripened.

I have / had the same impression of Chicago Hardy - never even cared to try to get a copy because it’s so common

That said, I have multiple of the Etnas that should be similar / the same, so I don’t feel like I’m going to be missing out there

Great looking plate of figs!!
