Look what I bought at the Food Lion

A nice red Amaryllis. I like buying flowers like this instead of cut flowers because these can be planted in my yard to bloom again and again and again to enjoy.

I do love the Amaryllis as well. Have a few different ones growing.
I used to buy them clearance out a week or so after valentine's day.

Awesome, I don't see those around here, mostly Orchids.
I don't know a lot about those though.

It’s a white amaryllis that the bulb is encased in wax and the great thing about it is you never have to water it. It just grows and flowers then after it’s done remove the wax and when it’s completely dried out put it into the ground and it will come up in the spring.

Beautiful flower. Are you growing any crinum?
They are one of my favorites. But a pain to trans plant as the bulbs can grow deep in to the soil.

I grew Amaryllis at my house in Florida and it did very well so it should do well at your house. The white one pictured above I planted in ground at the house I just sold in September and it came up 2 years in a row.

I had to look that up. I’m not growing them, they are beautiful and different types too. Do they need full sun or still grow in shade or part shade?

Most of mine are in part shade.
